Having been raised in Lexington, Scott is a graduate of Lafayette High School, the University of KY School of Music, and holds a Masters in Trumpet Performance from Indiana University, Bloomington.

Scott has served as Director of Worship Arts for Hay Street Church in Fayetteville, NC, and previously served on Centenary's staff as Associate Director of Music. He has also served on the faculties of UK (Interim Professor of Trumpet), Transylvania University (Adjunct Trumpet Instructor and Jazz Ensemble Director), and Methodist University (Fayetteville, NC).

Scott also writes and arranges music for worship and for brass. He is available as a freelance trumpeter for weddings, ceremonies and concert events. With 20 years teaching experience, he offers a wealth of knowledge about trumpet playing and musical expression to students of all ages. Scott is available for private or group trumpet instruction.
